MSLdesign

San Francisco-based designer Martin Linder has worked as an industrial designer and university educator for three decades.

A full professor at San Francisco State University, Martin focuses on transportation security and furniture design.

His work is guided by his commitment to rigorous research methodologies, and he counts jungle treks, Papua New Guinea tribal artifacts, Constantin Brancusi's innovative spirit, Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann's furniture of elegance, finely crafted guitars, the compelling writings of Octavia Butler, Neil Young's propensity for endless musical creations, the Williamsburg Bridge the Sagrada Familia, and the human form among his key influences. It is Martin’s hope that he can, even in small ways, reduce suffering and increase pleasure in those who come into contact with his designs.
