Nemschoff Announces Opening of New Showroom and Corporate Headquarters SHEBOYGAN, WI – June 1, 2001 – Nemschoff is pleased to announce the opening of its new showroom and corporate headquarters. The new location, which is in downtown Sheboygan, is approximately 25,000 square feet, of which 4,000 square feet make up the showroom. The building is a two-story red brick building on Sheboygan’s Eighth Street, in close proximity to shops, restaurants, the historic Sheboygan theater and the nationally known John Michael Kohler Arts Center. Nemschoff occupies the entire second floor and a portion of the first floor.  Nemschoff shares the first story with other commercial tenants who include a travel agency and a securities business. The Nemschoff lower level lobby leads to a large dramatic second floor reception area. This second floor lobby is separated from workspaces by glass doors etched with a portion of the Nemschoff tree, allowing light to flow into the interior entry space. All workstations, by Teknion, are along the exterior walls, allowing employees to enjoy natural light and work without interruptions from outside visitors. Private offices also enjoy natural light and are separated from public areas by a diffused glass that allows for the transfer of light, without compromising privacy. The office space also includes three large conference rooms, four small conference/telephone rooms, and a large break room. Key design elements provide continuity and linkage throughout. The office space enjoys a simple and neutral color palette that is timeless and allows for flexibility. Floor coverings are dark, slate tiles in the entry and carpeting in the work areas. Walls and workstations are various shades of warm taupe and whites. Task seating is yellow or Nemschoff periwinkle, giving the neutral space pops of color. Natural maple and stainless steel are also used throughout the interior. The entire workspace was designed to give employees a well-lit, calm, and healthy environment, while promoting Nemschoff as the leader in healthcare design. Visitors to the new Nemschoff location will spend their time primarily in the expansive showroom and large customer conference room. The conference room includes a large work area, state-of-the-art audio and visual facilities, and views of Lake Michigan. The showroom displays furniture in a cutting-edge atmosphere that links to practical applications in which Nemschoff products are typically used. The room features a floor to ceiling illuminated wall that casts soft light over the entire space, giving the showroom a fresh excitement. The floor is dramatic white vinyl by Lonseal, and is frequently used in hospital settings. Walls are white with tone on tone signage and spaces are subtly defined by dramatic fabric structures. The showroom also includes patient room space, giving visitors the opportunity to clearly see Nemschoff patient room furnishings in a real-life setting. The showroom space is completed with a working library that contains hundreds of fabric and finish samples, making it very easy to make selections.
