Scott & White, located in Temple, Texas, is a not-for-profit, multi-specialty, academic medical center affiliated with the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine. The healthcare system, founded in 1897, has become the state’s largest multi-specialty group practice. Today, Scott & White is a nationally recognized teaching hospital with facilities throughout Central Texas. Scott & White was also acknowledged as a Solucient® Top 100 Hospital from 2003 to 2007, ranking it as one of the top fifteen major teaching hospitals in the country.

In January 2007, Scott & White opened the Center for Advanced Medicine (CAM) as a 498-bed full service facility at the campus in Temple, TX. The CAM was planned with the most important people of the hospital in mind – the patients. Using healing design principles, the overall design of the CAM is more like a hotel rather than a typical hospital with a clinical feel. With colors that create a calming atmosphere in the patient rooms and throughout the facility, the design firm of Page Southerland Page made the facility feel more comfortable and personal.

The primary interior design goals of this project were to find and use a single source for procurement of furniture for the facility and develop a standards program for future renovations in the existing facilities. Nemschoff was quickly identified as the ideal source because of the breadth of product line, commitment to quality and superior customer service.
