In designing its new facility, SCOA focused on reducing the stress that cancer brings to patients and their families and increasing comfort. The facility worked with Young Office in Greenville, South Carolina to design and create a caring and compassionate facility. This was accomplished through the use of color, artwork, and foliage throughout the comfortable and inviting environment. Frank Sobash, Chief Operating Office of SCOA commented, "We really are providing a new level of oncology care and we wanted this to be communicated throughout our entire facility. It is a friendly, caring environment, one that we hope helps our patients live longer, happier lives." Nemschoff seating and tables are used throughout the facility, both to complement the compassionate and inviting environment and also to provide excellent comfort. "There are over 500 Nemschoff seating positions in this facility and each and every one of them provides comfort while seamlessly enhancing the beautiful environment we’ve created," states Amy Garrett, lead designer on the project from Young Office. The project team used Nemschoff furniture throughout the facility not only because it is comfortable and beautiful, but also because it provides long-term value and is from a nationally known company. "We really enjoyed working with Nemschoff on this project. They were lots of fun, provided excellent follow through, and took all of the unknowns out of a project such as ours. Additionally, they have a really great fabric program that we took full advantage of. I look forward to our next project with Nemschoff," concludes Sobash. |
